They said it would last a month. It didn't. It lasted 3 weeks. 12 days, actually. That's less than 2 weeks. And now, it's over. OUR FINALS ARE OVER. Form 4 is over. Phew. That was no honeymoon year, man.
Still, I have a feeling next year is going to be a lot worse. SPM, urgh. Oh well. We'll just get it over with. We always do. That's just how life is.
Anyway, on a side note, remember how I was so afraid of failing Add Math I even blogged one entire blog post about it? Well, I've gotten back my results. It was one of the first papers I got back. Well, the only, actually, unless you count Civic.
And the result is...
I PASSED. :')
I PASSED. :')
I got a perfect 40. :) Life on the edge, eh? ;)
I know to most people, passing Add Math isn't really that big of a deal because they could probably do it with one hand tied behind their backs. But I have some serious self-confidence issues with Math, and after all those 3 Add Math failures from January 2011 till now, passing is a big deal to me. :)
So, I promised someone that they would be a part of my "acceptance speech" if I passed Add Math for finals. :P So here goes, my acceptance speech for passing(and yes, I know I'm a very syok sendiri person).
First of all, I would like to thank my parents and siblings for all their encouragement and everlasting love. Especially to my parents for paying for my Add Math tuition fees.
Secondly, my Add Math teacher, Pn Lee Hee Ai, who I think is a great teacher. She's probably the coolest Add Math teacher too.
Thirdly, my tuition center which gave me all the practice materials I needed to do my Add Math on(even though my parents are paying for it, but still).
Also, Yee Hui and Jennifer, and everyone else who has at some point helped me when I asked them how to do a question, for helping me whenever they could in class, when I didn't get what teacher was teaching.
And now, probably the one who did the most. I would like to thank Madd. For giving up her (very limited)free time to tutor me whenever I asked. For doing her best to teach me what I couldn't understand. For being so patient and not pulling her hair out whenever I asked questions. For calming me down whenever I got nervous. For saying I could do it whenever I though I couldn't. For everything. :) Thank you.
Last but certainly not, God. Thank you God, for giving me all the people I mentioned above. Thank you for putting them in my life, for letting me journey through life with them. I love You, and I love them :D

There's still a lot of work to be done though. A lot more practice, if I want to get an A, which is my goal for my next Add Math test. :)
I think I'm gonna finish up the Add Math workbook that I rarely touched during the exam season during this holidays. If I'm not too busy watching Prison Break, that is. Have I mentioned that Wentworth Miller has possibly the sexiest eyes ever? ;D
Oh and, if you're wondering why I have low self-confidence when it comes to Maths, it's because my Standard 1 teacher once told me, "Charlene, you seem quite slow in doing Maths." I know it doesn't seem like much. But it IS one of the few memories I have of my 6 years in Lick Hung, so I think it must have affected something inside me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate that teacher. In fact, I like her, very much. But the fact remains, even from young I was weak in Math. It's hard for me.
That's no excuse though. I got an A for Math in PMR, and I'm going to get 1 for SPM, Add Math. I know SPM Add Math and PMR Math are two very different stories, but I know I can do it. I just have to try harder.
A senior once told me "Once you get Add Maths, it's the funnest subject in the world." And I have to agree. That's if you get and understand it though. If you don't, it's a terrible fate.
